Public Views are a key part of our Seattle’s uniqueness and flavor — we must act now to ensure that we save them for generations to come.

protect your public views

The Space Needle is a part of the fabric of Seattle, rising out of our skyline, peeking through treelines, and reminding us about what sets Seattle apart and makes our city unique.  Views of the Space Needle are for everyone and should continue to be enjoyed from neighborhoods, local parks and community spaces.

The Seattle City Council is finalizing legislation changing the zoning rules in the South Lake Union neighborhood.  We are concerned that these plans for development in the South Lake Union neighborhood threaten to block critical view corridors of the Space Needle for visitors and residents alike.  Blocking views of the Needle would change the flavor of not just the South Lake Union neighborhood, but our entire city.

As a member of the Seattle community you can help protect the spirit that is Seattle by helping ensure that we preserve views of this famous landmark, and maintain what is unique about our city. We encourage you to let our city leaders know what you think.
